Mike LeGrand's Brawltimore Harbor

New commissioned piece by me for Mike LeGrand, his idea.  I spent about 40 hours (give or take) on this fun illustration. Theme was a battle-royal of Baltimore Inner Harbor landmarks and Pop Culture. I invented the character of the B&O Railroad Steam-marching-band-man, inspired by Iron Giant and my love of College Marching Bands.  Photoshop, Wacom Cintiq 22inch monitor. 

John Browns Rebellion

John Brown's rebellion was short, but poignant, was the inspiration for  Julia Ward Howe to write the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I learned this watching Ken Burn's classic documentary "The Civil War."

The Process and Two AK74 Pattern Rifle

Two more digital paintings of weapons. I'm thinking this will be a continuing series and new body of work. Relearning how to look at detail and convey on a canvas. Future Battle

Really fun commission I had the fortune to work on. I want to do more stuff like this over the next year. The concept was to draw a generic, near future battle with a mech involved, cover illustration for a table-top-game-rule-book. Probably spent about 24 hours of work, Photoshop, wacom 22" cintiq.

Wrapping up Stiarna Fan Art, Samantha and Redpandroid

Fan art of my friend Samantha, her webstore is www.redpandroid.com. Talented costumer. Illustration based on a travel picture she posted. About 12-16 hours of work in Photoshop. 2 hours to plan, 2-3 to do the portrait, 10 hours to render the rest. Super fun to do and learn about rocks and moss and grasses.
